Generator Power/

From a start-up to a national player/

A generator brand fuelled by people power/
Generator hire companies generally communicate through technical data. We wanted to communicate the human, down-to-earth qualities that made Generator Power different.

Where they were/
If you work in Utilities, Telecoms, Events or Construction and you need a generator on-site, Generator Power are one of the biggest hire companies in the field. Over the space of 30 or so years they’d grown from a start-up to a national player and had 8 depots all over the country.

But their branding hadn’t kept pace. It failed to communicate their size, stature and innovative products. As a result, they were missing out on larger, more lucrative projects.

Where we took them/
Once we got to know them, what came across most strongly was their attitude. Whatever the challenge, they always got things done and were constantly using new ideas and kit to improve their service. We simplified their logo and introduced the brand line, “We do whatever it takes to keep the power flowing”. We also developed a visual “power line” device that knitted the brand together. A mix of cut-out photography and simple illustrations communicated their straight-talking, “can do” personality, helping them stand out in a sector that’s usually impersonal and full of dry, technical jargon.

  • Turning staff into photographers

The Workhaus build all sorts of amazing, one-off structures for museums and their special exhibitions. But they couldn’t afford a photographer to capture the finished products or the step-by-step process behind them.Read more /
