The retail fit-out market was increasingly driven by cost, so the extra quality and commitment that PEC gave their customers wasn’t getting them as much business as it deserved. We helped them refresh their branding and communicate their commitment to doing exceptional work, positioning them as honest, professional players on a national stage.
Where they were/
PEC are a Bradford retail fit-out company with 35 years of heritage. They often found themselves tendering for projects, but wanted to be judged on what they added to jobs, rather than simply finding ways to do them more cheaply. When we spoke to their customers they kept telling us that PEC always went the extra mile and made a huge difference to their businesses. PEC’s commitment to doing high quality work and the efficient way all their staff communicated also meant that jobs got done faster and more efficiently. The problem was, their competitors were promising to do a good job too. And they looked more professional than PEC did.
Where we took them/
We started by giving their communications a professional look and a more human tone of voice. This reflected their honesty, integrity and personal commitment to doing a good job, and it helped them look very different to the very practical, service-led communications of their competitors. We also repositioned them from a regional business to a national player, opening up more opportunities to win work where the quality of their services would win out over price.
